CHAPTER
SIX
Prelude
There is no doubt that at this point in timeafter what I had just experienced at the 4th of July parade, and then being allowed by the highway patrol to cross beyond their roadblockthat I was beginning to grasp the tremendous importance of what I am about to set forth in this book.
For a very wonderful purpose I was given the opportunity to experience certain things and to now, write about them.
There is even a detailed history of the events that have led up to the publication of this book, but I would rather leave them for another time. In no special order they would include many thingslike walking down an underground tunnel on a military base to meet with Mr. Bobby Baines, the chairman of NVOAD (discussed later); going to Washington, D.C. to attend NVOADs annual meeting; giving prasadam to Army troops in Colorado Springs at the site of a deadly airline crash; the founding of Krishna Disaster Relief; members of Krishna Disaster Relief aiding the victims of a firestorm in Oakland, California; and some years later, with the help of my gracious wife, Kay, finally being able to have a nice home and this computer to write this book.
