CHAPTER TWELVE
The Starting Point

We all know that Shrila Prabhupada came to America first because he had the foresight that great things begin here. This is very true and on the road to building a full-blown Hare Krishna international disaster relief agency, America is the perfect starting point.

The starting point is a very important factor. This cannot be stressed enough. Of course, for me, the starting point took place during that 4th of July parade. This is the way things often get built—starting with an idea or concept—which then takes on the form of a blueprint or plan. On paper the thing can be drawn out and "built"—before risking all the time and money that the actual construction requires. Also, other engineers can look over the blueprint and suggest changes before the work is begun. As far as this plan is concerned—other "devotee engineers."

Again, this is what this book is—a kind of blueprint. After I give it my best presentation, it will be handed to you. And I am sure that it will require some adjustment. But at least this book provides a comprehensive set of actions to consider.
