Lord Krishna In The 21st Century

Update: December 2006...Everything you are about to read was written over 12 years ago.  Although there have been enormous advancements in technology, the concept is still as strong as every.  I even read, just last week, about a machine that FEMA has mounted on a flat-bed truck.  This device sucks air into it and out comes pure drinking water...even in the desert and at a much lower cost than delivering water by the bottle.  As you read, you will understand where this would come into play.  Rohini-suta dasa

Although Lord Krishna In The 21st Century only takes a few hours to read, I guarantee that you won’t find it lacking in grandeur. It is a book that starts with a vision of sorts that I had at a 4th of July parade. But actually, its most important theme focuses on the aspirations of my spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. This is what every word in this book revolves around and supports. Nothing else.

Actually, I consider the vision I had more like a formula. For me, it is a formula that simply states: right actions produce right results. As I said, in this case, the right result is the fulfillment of Shrila Prabhupada’s fondest wish—or, if I may, his dream.

And believe me, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand this formula. Of course, Prabhupada’s fondest dream rested upon the very thing he was most fond of—Lord Krishna. Prabhupada loves his Krishna. Because of this love, he came to America to share this wonderful person with us. This was his mission: to introduce us to God, Lord Shri Krishna—and to awaken our love for Him. Prabhupada said, Because I love Krishna, I want everybody—the whole world to love Krishna, too. This is my only interest. For me, this is Shrila Prabhupada.

Please understand—although I have written this book and speak about a "vision" I once had, I am nobody special. Even after living for many years inside ISKCON, and even after having received two initiations, I am not fooled. I’m best at washing pots. I don’t even qualify to follow in the footsteps of a bhakta. Nor are you going to read in here a bunch of scripture to prove MY points. In fact, as I recall, I have only used a few short quotes—all from Shrila Prabhupada.

Despite these things, I sincerely believe you should give what I have to say a fair reading. ISKCON has a book called, Bhagavad-gita As It Is. What Lord Krishna In The 21st Century is saying, is to present God to the world—as He is.

When reading this book, please keep in mind what Shrila Prabhupada wanted. As his followers, we have two tremendous things going for us to serve Prabhupada’s mission. One is that God is the greatest person. My book takes a little different spin on this and says that God is the greatest hero. The second thing we have is the fact that everyone loves a hero. These are two, undeniable and powerful truths.

This is getting down to the essence of what this book is all about. All I have done is connect the dots—the overwhelming desire of Prabhupada’s heart was to see the entire world loving Lord Krishna.....our only interest is to fulfill Prabhupada’s dream.....Lord Krishna is the greatest hero.....everyone loves a hero.

What does it mean to present Lord Krishna as He is? What does it mean to present Lord Krishna as the greatest hero? What will happen? This is what you are about to discover.

As far as the 21st century, I guess time will tell. I would certainly welcome your comments or questions. I can be reached at—cedar@gvtc.com. All glories to Shrila Prabhupada.
